Arrow has over 55 divisions across North America.
Open burning of forest residues (slash piles) releases significant greenhouse gases (GHGs), including methane (CH4) and black carbon, which are potent, short-lived, climate pollutants. These burns also contribute to poor air quality, health impacts, and the loss of valuable renewable fuel.
By grinding slash into hog fuel and sending it to biomass energy facilities, we create green energy, reduce emissions, and support local jobs—all while keeping forests cleaner and more fire-resilient.
Burning a single slash pile creates 2,000 to 2,500 tonnes of GHG emissions while in comparison, grinding creates only 150 to 300 tonnes. This same material will then create 30 to 60 MWh of renewable energy. Each load has enough fibre to power a home for over a year.
In addition, grinding, hauling, and processing slash supports:
A reload or transload facility is a specialized hub where freight is transferred between different modes of transportation – such as moving lumber from a flat deck truck to a railcar. Arrow Reload has over 29 locations across North America and handles a variety of commodities including fuel, lumber, steel, equipment, dry bulk, palletized goods and much more. Our partners include BNSF, CPKC, CN, UP, Twin Cities & Western Railroad Co., SRY Rail Link, Arkansas Midland, Fort Worth & Western, The Indiana Rail Road, New York & Atlantic Railway and more.
The Clean Carrier Program is more than a certification; it is a roadmap for carriers dedicated to sustainable operations. By participating in this program, Arrow gains tangible benefits, including enhanced cost efficiency, increased market competitiveness, and strengthened relationships with stakeholders. The program offers a platform for carriers like Arrow to showcase our dedication to environmental responsibility and provides exclusive resources to support their journey. Arrow officially received Clean Carrier Certification in November of 2025.

While we are unable to provide direct financial assistance for those looking to obtain their class 1, Arrow has supported individuals in applying for government funding to cover part or all of the cost of the MELT program. However at this time, there are very few options for government funding. We are hopeful more streams of funding will open up again as government budgets are renewed. If you already have a class 1 license with little to no work experience, depending on time of year and mentor availability, Arrow does support training drivers who already have their class 1.
As a Top Fleet Employer of Distinction in 2026, Arrow has been recognized for excellent recruitment and retention practices, workplace culture, compensation, training and skills development, innovative HR practices and more. Arrow has been awarded this designation for seven consecutive years.
Arrow has fibre divisions across Western Canada that haul wood chips, hog, sawdust and other bulk fibre products. Wood chips, which are made up of leftover materials at sawmills, are deposited into end dump trailers and transported to pulp mills where paper products and renewable energy are produced.
At Arrow, fibre recovery means taking what was traditionally seen as wood waste (slash piles, wildfire damaged trees) and recovering the material for beneficial use. Arrow utilizes portable grinding to access areas where wood waste is present, grind the material and transport it to biomass energy facilities. Biomass energy facilities produce clean energy using steam to generate power.
Arrow is one of Canada’s largest mining concentrate haulers with extensive experience working in harsh and challenging climates. Working with Indigenous partners has allowed Arrow to establish long-term ventures hauling in remote areas. By controlling all aspects of the supply chain, Arrow is able to ensure product reaches its end goal safely, efficiently and on time.
